Here we go again. Race 2: Sardinia to Barcelona (via Menorca)

So here we are again. The teams have changed over (well, more or less changed over - Tasha couldn't resist a second leg), the boats have dried out, race 2 will go ahead as planned.

We were due to begin the race on Wednesday (7th) but we're delaying the start of the race by 24 hours due to current weather conditions to the west of Sardinia.

Due to the time constraints of competitors, the race will now be in a two-stage format.  The first stage will be into Mahon, Menorca; the second from Menorca to Barcelona.  This new plan delivers two benefits: firstly, the crews will be racing across a high-pressure system with better conditions to row in; secondly, it gives the crews the flexibility of reviewing their progress halfway through the race.

Our crews are enthusiastic about the new race and looking forward to the challenge.

Let's all cross our fingers for calmer seas.

We'll keep you updated. See you on the other side.
